Spain is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. It receives more than 60 million tourists per year.

When it comes to living in Spain, the first thing that awaits you is one of the most pleasant climates in Europe practically all year round, more than 8,000 kilometers of coastline and an impressive cultural heritage. And what about gastronomy? The Mediterranean diet has been declared a cultural and intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO, so, if you want, your diet during your stay in Spain will be very healthy. A tip? Don't forget to try olive oil.

Another of the main characteristics of Spain is the excellent quality of its health system: modern and with great coverage.

As for transport, especially in cities, you will find an extensive system of interconnected means of transport.

As for cultural infrastructure, you will find a wide variety of concert halls, museums and libraries. If you are looking for green spaces (parks, gardens, etc.) and a commitment to the environment, you will find them too.

Education also occupies an important place in the priorities of the Spanish government, which participates in the Strategic Framework for Education and Training 2020 (ET 2020) in order to improve the quality and efficiency of education and training systems.

When you live in Spain, you will have access to modern telecommunications, you will have a feeling of confidence and security and, above all, you will be able to enjoy the cheerful atmosphere that reigns in the streets at all times.
As for life expectancy, it is one of the countries where it is highest in Europe and in the world. A reality announced year after year and which is that the different indicators place our country on the podium, with an average age of 83 years.

Beyond this, there are factors such as the climate, which allows older people to go out and walk more often than in other countries where the weather prevents them, and food "because older people are still attached to the Mediterranean diet and can afford to eat vegetables and fruits at more affordable prices than in other countries". We must not forget the character of the Spanish, who are cheerful people and happy to live.

The Costa Blanca, or White Coast, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Spain. It extends for 200 kilometers along the Mediterranean coast, through the province of Alicante, from Gandia to Torrevieja.

Visitors to the Costa Blanca are spoilt for choice, as the destinations are varied and diverse. The Costa Blanca has a resort to suit all tastes. From the more lively and cosmopolitan resorts such as Alicante itself, or Benidorm, to those that still retain their rural air by the sea, such as Moraira.

History
The Costa Blanca has a rich and famous history, and there are many interesting sites throughout the region, which have provided
evidence that dates back to the Neolithic era in the area.

The region has also been of strategic importance to many settlers, including the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Visigoths, Carthaginians and Moors. Each civilisation living a mark of its identity on the land. Perhaps the most obvious is the influence of the Roman and Moorish occupations, which are still present today in the villages, monuments and cultural attractions of the Costa Blanca.
