Towns and villages on the Costa Blanca

Denia is a charming cosmopolitan town on the Mediterranean coast, where the sun shines almost all year round. Its mild climate and 20km of sandy beaches and rocky coves make Denia an ideal holiday destination.

Benissa is located at the northern end of the Costa Blanca, just off the A-7 motorway. The journey to and from Alicante airport takes just over an hour. The coastline between Calpe and Moraira is home to a number of quiet, restful bays. The scenery is magnificent, with spectacular rocks contrasting with the high mountains in the background.

Javea is a small, historic town with no high-rise buildings, offering a relaxing holiday atmosphere. The local population is friendly. The clean, warm and blue Mediterranean Sea covers the beautiful beaches and coves that Javea has to offer.

Moraira is a small coastal town set in the beautiful mountainous region of the north-eastern tip of the Costa Blanca island. The resort is ideally situated between the airports of Alicante and Valencia (around 90 km from each). The surrounding area offers a calm and relaxing atmosphere, with beautiful unspoilt countryside and many small villages to explore.

Calpe. In the heart of the Costa Blanca, in the Valencia region, lies the former fishing village of Calpe. Now a tourist attraction, the village is ideally located, with easy access from the A7 motorway and the N332 linking Valencia and Alicante, and is around an hour's drive from Alicante airport.

Benidorm. In the centre of the Marina Baixa region lies the popular Spanish seaside resort of Benidorm, one of the Costa Blanca's main tourist destinations. Its excellent beaches, wide variety of accommodation, restaurants and numerous leisure activities make it a popular destination for tourists from all over Spain and northern Europe.

Alicante is located in the centre of Spain's Mediterranean coast. The city's air is infused with the scent of the sea, as it has been an important seaport for many centuries. There's nothing quite as pleasant as strolling along the quayside promenade lined with four rows of palm trees, tessellated in Alicante red, cream and black marble in imitation of the waves of the Mediterranean.

El Campello. Beautiful sandy beaches, small coves... superb scenery, as well as walking and cycling routes in the surrounding mountains.
El Campello has a long coastline full of beaches and coves of all kinds, from small rocky coves like Coveta Fumà, sandy coves like Cala Venta and La Nuza, to long golden sandy beaches like Carrerlamar, next to the fishermen's quarter and Muchavista.
Muchavista beach, with over 3 km of fine, clear sand, is surrounded by high mountains and has a promenade that joins San Juan beach in Alicante without any geographical division.
A few kilometres inland are the caves of Canalobre, which are of great speleological interest.
In September 2005, the Lycée français d'Alicante opened its doors in the municipality of El Campello with around 1,600 students.

Villajoyosa. Between Alicante and Benidorm, the capital of La Marina Baixa, Villajoyosa (the cheerful town), also known as ‘La Vila’, is a colourful town whose seafront houses make it a must-see. They gave sailors a view of the city from their boats.
More than three kilometres of beach, crystal-clear waters, several archaeological sites, including the Tower of Hercules. Fishing port, where fish caught during the day are auctioned off.
The town's main fiestas are Moros y Cristianos (Moors and Christians), held every year in the last week of July to celebrate the reconquest of the Moors by sea and the fight against the Christians. These fiestas are recognised as being of international interest and are a must-see.
Villajoyosa is also home to several factories that make high-quality chocolate, which is sold internationally. Visits are organised by these establishments.

Elche: This town's main attraction is undoubtedly its palm grove, a World Heritage site. Two major festivals of international tourist interest are celebrated here: Palm Sunday and the Mystery of Elche, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Polop de la Marina : a village located on the heights of Benidorm, offering panoramic views of the valley, it is the perfect place for a peaceful and harmonious family life. Close to all services: nurseries and schools, international colleges, parks and gardens, sports clubs... One of the most emblematic monuments of the town of Polop are the 221 springs of pure mountain water that run throughout the year. They are located in the town's main square, built in 1976. Each of these springs bears the coat of arms of various villages in the region of Alicante, Valencia and Castellón. This square reminds us of the Plaza de España in Seville, representing the Spanish municipalities with their coats of arms. Very popular with locals and passers-by, who fill water cans daily. Don't forget to bring your container with you during your visit. Other monuments of tourist interest to visit: the Church of San Pedro, the Sanctuary of the Divine Aurora, the medieval wall at the highest point of the city where you can see its remains and, adjacent, the castle of Polop, a fortress of Muslim origin built at the beginning of the 12th century, declared a site of cultural interest from which you can enjoy one of the most fascinating views of the valley. The city festivals take place at the beginning of October and pay homage to Saint Francis of Assisi.

THE CASTELL DE GUADALEST
Located on a rock more than 500 meters above a dam that supplies water to the Marina Baixa region, this old town is classified as a historic site. See the castle of San José, a Muslim fortress from the 11th century, which can be accessed through a tunnel dug into the rock. Several museums: museum of nurseries and dolls' houses, museum of torture instruments, museum of miniatures, ethnological museum, etc. At the beginning of July, there are cultural days where tourists are welcome.

THE ALGAR FOUNTAINS
12 km from Benidorm and 3 km from the town of Callosa d'en Sarria, this is a heavenly place to spend a day, have a picnic and enjoy the natural beauty of the landscape. Magnificent waterfalls that stretch for 1.5 km along the Algar River, where you can bathe in its crystal clear waters, previously considered a beneficial source of health. Parking, shops, restaurants. Also worth seeing is the Dino Park, an attraction for children, an educational park located near the Cactus del Algar botanical garden.
